ABOUT
Hadrian Primary Care Alliance Limited (HPCA) is a GP Federation formed in 2011. Our purpose is to be ”an umbrella organisation providing services to and for our patients, through and with our member practices; benefiting member practices and regarded as the provider of choice by commissioners.”
HPCA is owned by its 11 member general practices all of whom are located in West Northumberland.
We cover a wide geographical location from Ponteland in the East, Bellingham in the North to Haltwhistle in the West. The area is a mixture of market towns and rural villages. In fact, Bellingham Practice covers the largest area in England, 800 square miles. A range of high quality services are provided to all patients of our member practices, c65,000 patients in total.
We work closely with West Northumberland Primary Care Network (PCN). PCNs were created by the government in 2019 to encourage practices to work collaboratively to provide patient care. As HPCA already had legal status as a not-for-profit company, together with the fact that all West Northumberland PCN practices are members of HPCA, it made sense for us to work together and for HPCA to provide services for the PCN.
